Finally had a chance to drop off the cheque!

Posted by AVM Foundation on Saturday, January 14, 2017,
Well, it's a few weeks later than I would have liked to give in the fundraising cheque for 2016, but at least I finally had the chance to head down to Toronto to drop it off at the Sick Kids Foundation office today!

Not for much this year, but every little bit helps because it all adds up! (And isn't the little guy in the picture behind us adorable?)

So for 2017, I am planning a few things that I hope I can pull off (on top of school and friends/family and life and all that other fun stuff)......

Fundraising weekend

Posted by AVM Foundation on Friday, November 18, 2016, In : Events
It may have been a while since I last remembered to post about an event that I have run, but that doesn't mean that they haven't been happening!! I have just gotten super busy with school, still working as blogger, writing my cookbook, and everything else that life seems to think needs to happen.

However, this weekend, my mom and I are teaming up to run a booth at a small event in Mississauga. So I am looking forward to that (and I will be doing my homework at the booth most likely hehehehe......

Planning for The SHINE! Festival is in full swing

Posted by AVM Foundation on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, In : Events
Have you ever worked as part of a team that plans events like concerts?  This is like nothing that I have EVER done before!!  So I am kind of making this up as I go... but it seems to be working so far!

We have bands!!!  This is the line-up so far:
  • 4pm: Rebekah Stevens
  • 5pm: J'aime Paine
  • 6pm: Colin James Clark
  • 7pm: Barry Szeto
  • 8pm: J'ai
So things look pretty great, entertainment-wise!  Tomorrow's missions include talking to The Oakville Centre staff to see if they have someone who can run the...

IT IS HAPPENING!!!  On Saturday August 17th, 2013, the AVM Research & Awareness Fund at The Hospital For Sick Children will take over Coronation Park in Oakville ( http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&tab=wl ) to help spread some sunshine.

The SHINE! Festival is a celebration of life and living it.  We want to have live music playing on the stage at the west end of the park from 3:00pm until 10:00pm.  (For this though, we will need bands... if you have one and are interested, please contact me...

Working on putting together something HUGE!

Posted by AVM Foundation on Saturday, February 23, 2013,
The AVM Foundation and Veronica have teamed up with one of her friends from college, and together we are working on getting together a benefit concert for this coming summer.  We are still waiting to hear back from the city of Oakville regarding if we got the stage at Coronation Park for the date that we want, but our fingers are crossed!

That being said, we are looking for bands and musicians that would be interested in helping out a great cause and joining in a day of fun!  If you are ...

New year = big changes!

Posted by AVM Foundation on Tuesday, January 17, 2012,
For me, 2012 marks the beginning of a new era in my fundraising.  This is the year, now that the foundation is ten years old, that I take over much of the administrative duties from my mom (who is just too busy for all that) and start really pushing forward with the planning of new and exciting events, outreach, and hopefully speech-giving.  I want my fondation to really be on the map as of the end of this year, so we shall see how far I get with that!

  Stay tuned to http://PositiveGraffiti...
